Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information VPN Guard Dog (“we”, “us”) processes when you visit vpnguarddog.com, why, and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
1. Summary
- We do not run visitor analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
- There are no user accounts, comment forms or newsletter sign-ups for visitors.
- Like almost every website, our servers and our network provider process technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
- We use a small number of functional cookies, described below.
2. Information processed automatically
Server and security logs. When you load a page, our hosting provider’s web server may record standard log data such as your IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page and browser user agent. This data is used to operate the site, troubleshoot problems and keep it secure, and is kept only for a limited period set by our hosting provider.
Content delivery and protection. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes connection data (including IP addresses) to deliver pages quickly and to protect the site against abuse and attacks. Cloudflare acts as our service provider; see Cloudflare’s own privacy policy for details.
Login protection. For the site’s administration area, a security plugin records IP addresses associated with failed login attempts in order to block brute-force attacks. This affects only people who try to log in.
3. Cookies
- pll_language — remembers the language version of the site you are viewing (English or Simplified Chinese). It is functional, contains no personal profile, and typically expires after one year.
- Cloudflare security cookies (for example
__cf_bm) — may be set to tell humans and bots apart and protect the site. They are short-lived and strictly necessary. - WordPress cookies — set only for people who log in to the admin area (site staff).
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, although your language choice may not be remembered.
4. Links to other websites
Our pages link to VPN providers and other external websites. Some of these links pass through a short redirect on our domain (for example /go/…) before taking you to the destination. Once you leave our site, the other website’s privacy policy and cookies apply. Some providers may use cookies to attribute a purchase to our site if we have a commercial relationship with them.
5. Contacting us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to mailing lists.
6. Backups
We keep regular backups of the website (content and database) to prevent data loss. Backups may contain the limited data described above and are deleted on a rolling schedule.
7. Legal bases and your rights
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or China’s Personal Information Protection Law apply, we process the data described above on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website, or to respond to your request. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, contact us using the details on our Contact page.
8. Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we add new features — for example analytics or a contact form — we will update this page before they go live and change the date above.
